INTRODUCTION TO INNOPRISE PLANTATIONS BERHAD

Innoprise Plantations Berhad (“IPB” or “the Group”) is a Sabah-based company primarily operating in the oil palm plantations sector. Currently, the Group is principally involved in the cultivation of oil palm and processing of fresh fruit bunches (“FFB”) to produce crude palm oil (“CPO”) and palm kernel (“PK”).

Overall, the Group manages 22,763 ha of land within the locality of Gunung Rara/ Kalabakan in Sabah, Malaysia. Out of this, 53.8% (or 12,246 ha) are currently utilised for oil palm cultivation under SJI. This is divided among six estates, namely Imbak, Gunung Rara, Labau, Maliau, Lokan, and Luasong. As part of its primary business operation, the Group also owns and operates a palm oil mill with processing capacity of 60/90 MT of FFB per hour.

Additionally, 2,734 ha of the Group’s land is also being used for Industrial Tree Plantations (“ITP”), with future expansion plans in place to expand further aimed at supporting environmental conservation and climate change mitigation efforts.

Under IPB Bio, the Group also operates a 1.8 MW biomass power plant to supply steam for CPO processing, as well as electricity generation for the mill, offices and certain estate housing. This represents our contribution towards reduction of carbon and greenhouse gas emission. The Group has also installed a 850 KW bio-gas engine system, further reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating renewable energy through the replacement of diesel generators.

Further details on the Group and its subsidiaries can be referred to in IPB’s AR2023.
